Since the academic year 2009/10, the Faculty of Pharmacy have been offering a five year Master Study Programme in Pharmacy, compliant with the Directive of the European Union 2005/36/EC. The study is based on a credit system and offers a wide range of optional courses structured to facilitate the student's desired career in areas such as


  •          substance synthesis and analysis
  •          analytic evaluation
  •          biological effect assessment
  •          molecular biology
  •          basic pharmacological and clinical research
  •          pharmaceutics economy and management in Pharmacy
  •          practical pharmacy



6-month internship in a pharmacy is integral part of the study. All foreign students are also eligible for ERASMUS + study or internship exchange programmes at many European universities.

Entry requirements


Applicants for the Faculty of Pharmacy must be graduates of a secondary school and present a certificate of the final examination (or the equivalent). Applicants must successfully pass entrance examinations which include written tests in Biology and Chemistry at a secondary school level.



Entrance examinations are held in terms according to requirement of visa:


Students needing visa: the entrance examination will be held in April. Complete application should be sent to the Study office before March 31st. (After this date please contact the study office.)


Students not needing visa: the entrance examination will be held in June. Complete application should be sent to the Study office before June 10th. (After this date please contact the study office.)

The entrance examination will take place at the Faculty of Pharmacy or in other place according to the county of the applicant. It has the form of a test from secondary school level chemistry and biology with 40 questions in each.

Students, who cannot attend entrance examination at the Faculty, can take online examination on prior arrangement.

  •          verified copy of High School Leaving Certificate (with Apostilla for further purpose recommended)

Information about scholarship


The University does not provide scholarships for foreign students, however eligible applicants can apply for governmental scholarships within the framework of intergovernmental exchange programmes. More information can be found on website of Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport of the Czech Republic.



Validation of the secondary education


According to Law 111/1998 Coll. and on the amendment and supplementation of other laws students are obliged to submit validated documents about their secondary education. This validation of secondary education is done by Regional Government Authority, where students should apply for the validation ("nostrifikace"). The University provides accommodation in the Kaunic's hall of residence in Králova 45 in Brno – Žabovřesky.


The dormitory offers the following types of accommodation


A block with 3-bed-rooms with shared social accessories and kitchen and B block with double-rooms with shared social accessories, kitchen, telephone, STA and its own internet connection. The price is around 3200 CZK (with Internet) per month in block B and cheaper in block A.
For the registration in the dorms each student needs to bring with them 2 photographs, an ID card or passport and 2500 CZK (500,- chip card, 2000,- refundable fee).
